Every time as email is received, the sending/receiving address is cross checked against the SV email database to see whether the address is logged against a client record. If the address matches a client record in SV then a copy of the email will be pushed to the corresponding client's 'emails' folder.

It would be great if this could poll accounts that are cloud hosted like in Google Workplace or Office 365 vs. standalone fat clients like Microsoft Outlook.
In the last three years I have gone from Canopy Tax to Intuit Practice Management to SmartVault. The best feature of the first two was the email integration. I would like to see this in SmartVault as it is a crucial part of efficient practice management. Thank you.
What is the timing to work with Microsoft 365?
Hooray! Our Email Capture and Outlook plugin feature is in Beta, being released to a limited number of customers. As of now, we've received great feedback from our Beta customers. We expect to have this publicly available within the next month.
If you'd like to get a copy of the Beta, please send an email to product@smartvault.com.
I heard there is a beta tester availablity, how can I be involved?
Great Idea! Although it would be more efficient if the email recipient/accountant can dictate which SV folder the email should be pushed, especially for those clients who have numerous entities using the same email address for portal access.
Great Idea...however if it's only for Outlook email users I will pass. What about Gmail or other email users?
I think it is great, but hope that clients will not need to be signed up for access to SV, only that we record their e-mail.
I am assuming the "emails" folder you are referring to will be in SV.
How will you handle all the emails in a string of emails? Where this can get very long if it is really a conversation.
At what point will it be "pushed" - when i read it or when I am done with processing the email. Will it be left in Outlook?
What if client has multiple email addresses? If I put them in the SV name area, I think SV generated items go to all addresses. When I send tax return ready - I don't what it going to multiple email addresses for the client.
So maybe an "email" only client entry in the Name section for this?
I think this is an absolutley fantastic idea, I am very excited to see what this new development team can do. Great work so far on the Guest Portal update, we are getting positive feedback from our clients
this would be great but also move to a separate default e-mail folder so easy to open and see all history of send and receive E-mails
Yes great idea, will save time.
I like this proposed feature because I am do this manually now in order have a communication trail.
